We’ve had more than 7.000 years of prune production in the world. Since 5.000 BC, thanks to the irrigation of the Tigris and Euphrates, the first prune cultivars were initiated.
World Prune Production
According to the International Prune Association, the total availability of prunes across the globe during 2022/23, including crops and stocks is approximately 240,000 tones. (Northern Hemisphere = 140 000t, Southern Hemisphere = 100 000t)
